We've put together a list of ways to make sure you are expending the least amount of energy while traveling so that you can make the most of it! There is nothing worse than spending a full day travelling to a new destination and having no energy to explore your surroundings.
1. Avoid checked baggage
In our experience, there is nothing worse than landing somewhere new only to find that your luggage did not follow you. Although there are certain limitations when carrying on your bag, like limited sizes for your toiletries and less space for clothes, it will actually save you airline fees! We recommend buying small reusable TSA approved containers to put your shampoo and conditioner in – this way you can invest in your future travels.
2. Wear slip-on shoes
It is important to remember to be smart about your shoe choices when heading out on a trip. Airports are full of gruelling lineups and aggravated people – so to smooth out the wait times remember to wear slip-on shoes. This ensures that your security experience will be free from stress as you can simply slip off your shoes, walk through the detector, and slip them back on. No more delays from scraggly, undone laces!
3. Bring your reusable water bottle
Not only will you save big bucks from refilling your own water bottle, you won't have to be constantly searching for a kiosk that sells water or waiting in shop line ups when you get dehydrated. If your water bottle is ceramic, stainless steel, or glass, it can even double as a vessel for your coffee! The best of both worlds.
4. Have cash on you
We are always worried when we travel that our credit cards will somehow stop working so we recommend that you always have a bit of cash on you. Although tapping your credit card or debit is a fast means of payment, it will slow you down if those get compromised. Cash is always an easy solution and almost every business takes it! You will also avoid nasty currency exchange charges if you are paying in cash in the currency where you are visiting.
5. Find the perfect passport holder
Nothing is more stressful than that moment of panic when you can't find your passport. Whether your on your way to the airport or arriving at your destination, it is crucial that you have your official travel documents! Our solution is to dress your passport in a nice cover and being mindful of where you keep it. We recommend placing it in the same spot in your bag every time so that you get into the habit of knowing where to find it.
